Starfish Level Descriptions
Parent-Tot I and II: 4 months - 2 1/2 years
We teach parents how to develop a lifelong swimming foundation for their baby. This class introduces your baby to the water and prepares them to learn how to swim.
Tiny-Tots: 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 years
Parent-Tot graduate or first time experience in swim lessons. Learn to be independent from parents and intro to un-assisted swimming skills.
Super Kids: 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 years
Comfortable with submersion, floats on front and back with little help, able to jump in and kick to teacher with little help.
Starfish 1: 3 1/2 + years
Little or no experience in water, not comfortable getting face wet and/or has fear.
Starfish 2: 3 1/2 + years
Comfortable with submersion, floats on front and back with little help, able to jump in and kick to teacher with little help.
Starfish Level 2+: 3 1/2 + years
Comfortable under water, floats or glides on front and back without support, rolls from front to back with little help. Intro to locomotion through strokes.
Starfish Level 3: 4+ years
Glides and kicks with rollover breathing independently. Able to swim crawl stroke arms with face in, strokes on back, and underwater.
Starfish Level 4: 4+ years
Performs crawl stroke with side breathing, backstroke and elementary backstroke independently for 15 yards.
Starfish Level 5: 4+ years
Swim 25 yards of front crawl with side breathing, back crawl for 25 yards, elementary backstroke for 25 yards.
Catfish: 6+ years
Must be a Starfish Level 5. Knows four competitive strokes and is ready for endurance workouts and stroke refinement. Novice swim meets during summer session.
Private lessons
Available for all levels from beginner to master swim. Lessons include overcoming personal obstacles, stroke work and conditioning. It is never too late to learn how to swim!
